Abhyangam – Kerala Special Kalari Massage :
We provide a wonderful and powerful form of Ayurvedic massage called the Kerala Kalari Massage where medicated oils are selected according to the body constitution of the person and massage is done by Two Therapists working in choreographed unison to bring balance and integration to both sides of the body. It feels incredible! The oils are warmed and applied to the body according to Ayurvedic discipline with Marma energy point stimulation to enhance the cleansing effects. This is a special type of oil massage in which strokes are given according to the circulatory channels for 45 minutes per day for 14 to 28 days. This imparts Oleation, Complexion, Stability, Destroys Fatigue and Disturbances due to Vata Dosha. This treatment is very useful for Obesity, Loss of Skin Texture, Sleeplessness, Fatigue, and Other Vata predominant Diseases etc.

Swedana – Steam Procedure:
Two different steam treatments are applied following the massage according to the necessity of the patient’s condition. An organic herbal decoction is blended specifically for your constitution and the steam from the herbal decoction is applied to all the joints in the body with equipment specially designed. This steaming procedure is called Nadi Swedam
The other steaming procedure is a conventional SteamChamber Procedure, where the person is placed in a steam cabinet that bathes the body with herbal decoction prepared according to the body constitution. The steam opens the body channels allowing the herbs and oil to deeply penetrate along with their healing properties. The sweating purifies the body by removing deep-seated toxins.
Shirodhara - A Wonderful Experience:
‘Shira' means ‘Head’ and ‘Dhara' is ‘The Continues Flow’. This Treatment is a continuous flow of oil on the body of the patient. Dhara uses oils as well as some concoctions. Shirodhara is carried out, by using a pot having a yarn wick fitted into the hole. This pot would be hanged over the wooden vessel in which the patient is lying. The medications would be poured into the pot and the liquid would be gradually trickled onto the head. The Thaila Dhara (Herbal oils),Ksheera Dhara (medicated milk), Takra Dhara(medicated butter milk) etc., and form the portions of medications and it would be carried out for about 40 minutes in a day for a period of 7 to 21 days. This treatment is very effective for people suffering with Insomnia, Loss of Memory, Headaches, Graying of Hair, Mental Tension and Certain Skin Diseases like Psoriasis etc.

Pizhichil (Sarvanga Dhara/ Kaya Seka):
The doctor first examines the patient and the oil to be used would be prescribed. The oil would be slightly heated. A clean cloth bundle would be kept ready. The patient would be made to lie down on a wooden Table, which is the size of the average human body. The bundle of cloth would be dipped into the heated oil and then squeezed slowly. Then the experienced masseur would knead the bundle all over the body of the patient. It would be done slowly so that the oil may spread equally with the same amount of heat and then briskly.
This Pizhichil treatment would generally lasts for a period of 7 to 21 days for about 60 to 90 minutes per day. The patient is guided to follow a certain routine for these days to obtain maximum benefit from the Pizhichil treatment. This Pizhichil treatment is very useful for Rheumatic Diseases like Arthritis, Paralysis, Hemiplegia, Cervical & Lumbar Spondylosis, Shoulder Joint Pain, Sciatica, Disc Prolapse, Sexual Weakness and Neurological Problems etc.
Navarakizhi (Shali Shastika Pinda Swedam):
Navarakizhi is very effective especially for Polio and Paralysis. Navarakizhi is a type of sudation process in which the whole body or any specific part there of is made to perspire by the application of certain medicinal puddings externally in the form of boluses tied up in muslin bag. Two or more masseurs apply this for about 60 to 90 minutes per day for a period of 14 days.Navarakizhi treatment is for all types of Rheumatism, Pain in the Joints, Emaciation of Limbs, High Blood Pressure, and High Cholesterol.
Therapeutic Effects of Navarakizhi are:
Enhances body nourishment, Removes Joint Stiffness due to Vata vitiation, Cleanses the Srotases (Channels), Complexion, Improves Digestion, Removes Sluggishness and Excessive Sleep, Removes Nervous Disorders, Chronic Rheumatism, Limb Emaciation, Blood born diseases, Prevents Premature Ageing etc.
Vasthi:
Otherwise known as “Medical Enema”. Vasthi is a Therapeutic procedure in which certain herbal oils (Anuvasana Vasthi), herbal extracts (Niruha or Kashaya Vasthi) etc., are applied through the rectum daily for a period 7 to 21 days. This treatment is effective for Arthritis, Paralysis, Hemiplegia, Numbness, Gastric complaints, Rheumatism and Chronic Constipation.
Siro Vasthi:
Certain lukewarm herbal oils are poured into a cap fitted on the head and held or 15 to 60 minutes per day according to the patient’s conditions for a period of 7 days. This treatment is highly effective for Facial Paralysis, Dryness of Nostrils, Mouth and Throat, Severe Headaches, Diseases of the head, Spondylosis and Degenerative Disc Conditions etc.
Udwarthanam:
Udwarthanam is the treatment where in the massage is done with powders of medicines The powder is rubbed forcibly on the body in upward direction. This Treatment is otherwise known as ‘Powder Massage’. This is found very effective in Obesity, Hemiplegia, Paralysis, Skin Diseases, Impaired Circulation etc. and similar Kapha predominant diseases. In this procedure 2 Therapists apply certain special herbal powders in a peculiar way on the body for about 30 to 40 minutes daily for a period of 14 to 28 days.
Kizhi:
Herbal leaves (Elakizhi) and herbs or herbal powders (Podikizhi) are applied to the whole body in boluses with hot medicated oils for 45 minutes per day for a period of 7 to 14 days. This treatment is for Osteoarthritis, Arthritis with Swelling, Spondylosis, Sports Injuries, Severe Body pains etc.
Elakizhi (Leaf Bundle Massage):
A treatment in Ayurveda, Elakizhi is a bolos bag massage with medicinal leaves. It is very effective in improving the strength of muscles, relieving body pain and curing diseases such as Arthritis and Paralysis. In this treatment, herbal leaves are applied to the whole body in bundles with hot medicated oils. The treatment is also known by the name Patra Swedam.
Ricinus, Drum stick, Tamarind and Arka are among the herbal leaves used for the treatment. The leaves are fried together in Neem or Caster oil until a brown color is attained. Lemon pieces and coconut scapes are then added to it. All these are tied in cloth boluses and dipped in medicated oil to massage the body.
Podikizhi (Churna Swedam):
This is a type of Swedana Chikitsa (fomentation) wherein medicated powders are made into poultice and used for giving fomentation.
Drugs like Vacha, Sarshapam, Jatamamsi etc. are made into fine powder, fried and tied in cloth pieces in the form of boluses. These are made hot frequently throughout the procedure. The person is made to sit on the table for massage. He is then given fomentation with simultaneous massage using this poultice. Application of medicated oil prior to fomentation is not mandatory here. It is usually done for 7 days / 14 days / 21 days according to the patient’s requirement.
Certain types of Neurological Conditions, Certain conditions in Arthritis caused due to block of Vata by Kapha, Over weight and Obesity, Some types of acute pains like Sciatica, Lumbago etc this treatment is very effective.
Dhanyamla Dhara :
Warm herbal liquid poured all over the body in a rhythmic way using special vessels for 45 minutes to 1-hour daily. This treatment is very effective for Obesity, Hemiplegia, Paralysis, Rheumatic Complaints, Oedema etc.
Yoni Prakshalanam (Douch):
Herbal oils and Decoction are applied through the Vaginal route. This treatment is good for Gynaecological Disorders. This is done, as a Speciality treatment for Infections, Inflammation, Erosions and Infertility Treatments. It is also a Purification process for Genital organs.
Kati Vasthi:
In this process specially prepared warm medicated oils poured from a distant Height and then the oil is allowed to cool by itself which is kept over the lower back with herbal paste boundary. This is repeated for 6 to 8 times for a period of 45 minutes to one hour and it is good for any type of Back Pain and Spinal disorders, Sciatica, Slip Disc, Spondylosis, Herniated Disc etc.
Greeva Vasthi:
Greeva Vasthi is also very much similar to the Kati Vasthi treatment but is used for treating the problems of the neck and upper limb. Common problems like Frozen Shoulder, Cervical Spondylosis, Neck Pain; etc can be affectively treated with this local treatment.
Uro Vasthi:
Like Kati Vasthi, warm medicated oil is kept over the chest for 45minutes. This is an effective treatment for Asthma, other Respiratory Problems, Heart Diseases like Mild Angina and Muscular Chest Pain etc.
Meru Vasthi:
Oil treated with special herbs is kept on whole the MERU DANDAM (Spine). Spondylosis (Cervical, Lumbar and Ankylosing), Neck Pian, Low back Pain, Slip Disc, Sciatica, Herniated Disc and all the other Spinal Disorders are treated with Meru Vasthi.
Janu Vasthi:
Here Medicated oil is kept over Knee Joints with herbal paste boundary. This is very effective in cases of Osteo Arthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis involving the Knee Joints.
Hrudya Vasthi:
Medicated oil is kept over Hrudayam (Chest) with herbal paste boundary. This is an effective treatment for Asthma, other Respiratory Problems, Heart Diseases and Muscular Chest Pains etc.
Nabhee Vasthi:
Medicated oil is kept over Umbilicus with boundary of herbal paste. It treats the Ailments related to the Digestive System.
Ksheera Dhoomam:
This is fomentation with medicated cow milk. This treatment is good for Facial Paralysis, Bell’s Palsy, Speech Disorders and other Neurological Disorders of the Face.
Thalam:
Herbal powders mixed with medicated oil applying on the top of the head for 20 to 45 minutes. This treatment is helpful for ENT problems, Insomnia, Migraine etc.
Lepanam:
This is the process by which medicated herbal paste is applied on the affected part. This process has got tremendous effect in inflammatory conditions.
Karnapoornam:
In this process medicated extracts are poured into the ears for 5 to 10 minutes. This process helps to clean the ears and cures all the ailments in the ear.
Akshi Tharpanam:
This is the cleaning process of the eyes, which gives the cooling effects, prevents eye diseases and strengthens the optic nerve. It is also known as Netra Vasthi or Netra Tarpanam and is used for treating various eye problems like Short Sight, Long Sight, Drooping of the eyelids, etc.
Mukhalepam:
This is a herbal face pack with specially made herbal powder and fresh cream. This treatment can prevent wrinkles and improve the Tonicity of the Skin. This is good for the eyes also.
Gandoosham:
This therapy involves the retention of medicated oil or decoction in the Mouth. The benefits of this therapy will bring a glow to the Face, improve Lines and Wrinkles, Tones the skin and assist with any kind of Mouth, Voice or Teeth Disorders while cleansing the Ear, Nose and Throat pathways.
